I have been elected to serve as the president of the Mystery Writers of America, New York Chapter. I’ve been a member of the MWA for several years now and, while there are many benefits to joining, I enjoy the camaraderie with other crime writers most of all. When I first walked into a meeting, I felt very much outclassed. But then I saw Reed Farrel Coleman there, and then felt I fit right in. Seriously, I’ve made some wonderful friends there and learned many valuable things about writing (and marketing). I look forward to working with the board and getting to know the members. I even bought a new jacket for this. Now, I am still waiting for my presidential helicopter and/or limo.
